So, I’m a little late, but we’re about halfway through the year!
Although it’s the dead of summer, I can only think about winter. This past winter was different; I went to Florida during the break. After spending some time in the gentle winter warmth of my home state, it was actually refreshing to return to the cold of my hometown. Everything felt so fresh and new, those first few days of January. Winter is so quiet, but so is the dead of summer compared to a bustling fall (which I will most definitely have).
I remember around the new year my parents played a song in the car on the radio. The song was “It was a Very Good Year” by Frank Sinatra (Remastered). It’s such a beautiful and appropriate (at the time) song. You should give it a listen. Considering half of the year is gone, I’d say it’s pretty good. I enjoyed my last few days of high school, and I passed all of my AP exams. I’m going to a college that I’m excited about attending, and I know a lot about it. We’ll see what the latter half has in store for me, but I will admit that I am a little nervous. The first week of December 2023 is going to suck.
It’s weird being a young adult. I can go through my own appointments and yet I do not pay. I’ve also begun to realize how much I want and need and how much that costs. I feel bad! I want financial independence so that I don’t have to worry my parents anymore and self-subsist. Thankfully college will allow me to spread my wings for a little bit.
Also, my mom and I went shopping for a laptop. Well, I never realized how impossible it is to shop for one. I have a list of desired requirements, yet the one laptop that meet those requirements is being phased out for a new one that won’t be out until schools starts for me. In addition, though the store attendants are helpful, they love to talk about the tech a little too much. The guys stated what engineering major they were in and went on about how certain brands were bad. Dude, I just want a damn laptop, we are running out of options and patience.
Anyway, my last couple of weekends I have have some things to do. This weekend is my family reunion. Next weekend, I will be attending a freshman send off party for students attending my university. The weekend after that, I’ll be on vacation in St. Petersburg/Tampa, which is my hometown! I hope to take some pretty beach pictures! <3
Boa noite,
