Comic Cons disappointment

I recently started attending Comic book conventions for the first time in close to 10 year. I have to say I have been vastly disappointed when it came to the dealer rooms. The first one I attend was a small one at a local hotel. It was a Trek convention specifically. While this one attracted a lot of local vendors selling their items, this one only attracted one... ONE Star Trek memorabilla vendor.

The next one I attended was this weekend was called Eternal Con at Hofstra University. While this one was rather large and attracted a lot of vendors. Almost every single one of these vendors sold the same 3 items. Necca Toys, Funko Pop and Marvel/DC toys. There was absolutely no variety with any of the business.

Before I took my break from Conventions it use to be a one stop Etsy shop. It wasnt just toys and comics but apparel, fantasy jewlery, sculptures, role playing gaming stuff. Hell even swords and knives. Im sorry but not everyone collects Funko Pops. I just hope the next convention I attend is not like this. Otherwise Convention organizers need to do better attracting better business.
