It's been 3 whole months since my top surgery which means I'm FINALLY allowed to do excessive/straining exercise. I haven't been able to do anything more strenuous than walking this whole time so my body lost it's conditioning and now that I'm back from the studio life is pain :). It was awesome though I had so much fun and I can't wait to schedule another class I'm so glad I can go back it's the best. Technically the doctors said that they generally consider you completely healed and capable of strenuous activity after 2 months post-op but they kept using running and weight lifting as an example so I told them I pole dance and they were like "oh" and said to throw in an extra month just in case because they've never had a pole dancer as a patient and they weren't sure. I have no sense of time so waiting suuuuucked but I think it was better that way cuz you lose a lot of skin when you get top surgery so it took me a while of gentle stretching to feel flexible enough. Now that I'm capable of keeping up in class the exercises we do there will also help my flexibility more going forward which is nice. I thought that after 3 months I'd be like worse than I was before but I did really great today! I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO DO JASMINE ONE HANDED ON BOTH SIDES (very hard and scary and difficult and I've been trying for very long to no avail and I need to be able to do that in order to move from L1 to L2) and I generally picked up all the moves I already knew without struggle. I'm so glad I discovered the studio it's so much fun~. A couple more classes should get my muscles back in check so I won't be sore all the time, other than like the constant bruises that you inevitably get from the pole.
Currently dying my body is so sore

BARELY LOL They have a list of moves they want you to have somewhat mastered before you can move on to level 2 classes and you have to be able to confidently hold a one handed jasmine for like 10 seconds and I'm still so shakey even with both hands. In my last class tho I had the instructor watch me so I could figure out what my problem is and I feel like I'm getting closer! It's honestly mostly a fear of falling (I'm a big wimp) but also I'm not locking my legs and bottom arm enough. Next week I'm gonna practice it so hard! That's how I got the form for climbing down which I also originally struggled a lot with.
