Music Monday #2|Aqautic Ambience by David Wise

Welcome back to Music Monday! Today I'll be talking about one of my favorite video game songs, Aquatic Ambience. This song was written by David Wise for Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. The track has some of the most emotional and beautiful sounds I've heard in a song. The chords stay the same throughout the song with the bass note being the only changing note in the. This makes the chord transitions insanely smooth. It's masterful ambient chord progression technique. The sax solo is great and really adds to the smoothness of the track. It's absolutely insane that this song was able to be created for the SNES sound chip. It reportedly took David Wise 5 weeks to write the song and implement it into the SNES. This song will never get old. I've slept, read, worked, gamed, and even cried while listening to it. This has to be one of my favorite songs of all time, period. It's funny how the gameplay is just monkeys and apes swimming and the music is this insanely god like piece of music accompanies it. Another reason I love this song so much is that it gives me this really big sense of wonder, nostalgia, and inspiration that very certain pieces of media give me. Thanks for reading Music Monday and happy listening! : )
