a band i discovered recently.

ok, i was scrobbling my music in last.fm as always, the algorithm recommended me a band called: Make Me.

in their bio, it said, they were a short-lived band from new jersey living from 2004 to 2006 and only releasing short material.

they also had an old myspace dating from 2004, they used to mention their influences explicitly: "i have dreams, tunes for bears, cowboys became folk heroes, owls, cap'n jazz, audioheart, wafflehouse*, q and not u, rescue, hot cross, saetia, taken, circle takes the square, an albatross, penfold, kodan armada, friend of hero, fordirelifesake, you and i, explosions in the sky, the six parts seven, of sinking ships" as well as writing their own biography: "there isn't any crazy story about how we came together. we're all tight friends and the band naturally formed itself in early 2004. evan had to dust off the good ol' drumset and chris picked up the bass instead of his guitar for the first time. jam sessions and foolin around quickly turned into.......... jammin and foolin around. thats where we are today. and then evan took a shit on a paper plate on the kitchen floor."

shit's funny, yeah, but now we're are gonna talk about the band's releases.

- 4 song demo/2004

- split with black juju/2005

- appearance on compilation/2006

- unreleased demo/probably 2006.

they split up in 2006 with these limited material, influenciating acts like merchant ships, midwest pen pals, william bonney, ect.

the singer went on to form more sucessful but still underground bands like boy problems and boys and sex, these bands had more in common with philadelphia scene than new jersey scene with bands like algernon cadwallader and street smart cyclist/snowing.

i have a strange bootleg that compiles their whole put-outs in one LP (here.)

also this is a extra screenshot from their latest blog posts and their latest's shows from the last archive of 2000s before myspace turned well different.
