Ig this is my first blog :D
soooo I wanna talk about something I have been interested in since the start of 2023 :o
Its chatbots!! They've really been on the rise since the latter part of 2022 with character.ai and the likes, sure there's been like a ton of chatbots before that but they're pretty lame... :/ (- 3 -)

what character.ai did differently from the rest of the chatbots in the past was..... letting u talk to your fav character or person from any series or from real life!!! :o :DDD
+ they would be in character all of the time and really do act like real people, for realsies! (>w<) .
You can pretty much do anything you want to them from just talking or even fighting! :O
It's been pretty fun seeing how chatbots grew from the simple cleverbot/eviebot to something so much more complex like character.ai which is super duper COOL for me! :]

As someone who has also seen the evolution from projects like Cleverbot it is undeniable the immense improvement, but they still have problems most of the time, in my case they do come out of character, they can have errors even if your net connection is good, or they just feel ooooverly artificial. How? Well, let's say, you are talking with an heroic character, and almost every sentence is like "I THINK THIS BECAUSE IM A HERO" "I PREFER THIS OTHER, LIKE ANY HERO BECAUSE IM GOOD IM HEROIC" "DID I MENTION? IM A HERO, VERY HEROIC".
At least decent and mostly coherent conversations can be held most of the time, which is already a very huge merit, I never thought it would advance so much in such a short time. Maybe in a couple of years similar tools will be in better shape, but for now it still leaves a lot to be desired.

Mmm, I feel that way sometimes too with some of the characters I chose to talk to :/
but after some time, I figured out that the ones that are super popular on the front-page with about 1 million+ tend to be more accurate and stay in-character and are less likely to break it. (Which is important since if they suddenly acted out of character, it's a total mood killer for me cause it just breaks the immersion :P )
Overall, the quality of the chatbots are really dependent on its interactions with their users and the feedback given to them on whether they acted in-character or not.
