New Users, Activate 2FA After Registering

While this site gained hundreds of thousands of new accounts, some of my friends didn't realize there was 2FA to enable. Be sure to stay safe and avoid any suspicious links sent to you, even when you do activate 2FA

Now to find out how to get to 2FA, go to your Home tab and click Account Settings.

Then it'll say 2FA is disabled. Activate the 2FA feature, it'll prompt you to use Google Authenticator. Let me know if there's any issues in the comments.

Important: Keep backup codes on your Google Account. Either by printing them and placing them in a special physical container incase of device failure, or form of downloads (though I believe physical security is better since it's localized in your home).

Olive	Pinned 1637010754 I'd recommend against using Google Authenticator. If for some reason you loose your device there is NO way to get back your 2FAs. This can lead to a huge hassle getting accounts back, and in some cases it being impossible. Keep backups! Use software that allows you to! In my case, I was buying a new phone and the service provider representative was transferring my number to my new phone. Behind the scenes, he had also completely wiped my old phone - I don't know what he was thinking - and factory reset it. I ended up locked out of my Discord account and lost control of my server. I can't even have the server taken down. I made a new account and a new server and everyone moved over but... I've learned my lesson not to use 2FA. by Trisha Ryan; 1637657422; Report
