albums that remind me of my hometown (and might remind you of yours too)

my first kinda personal post here? i jus' wanted to talk about a couple albums that remind me of my hometown ofc lol

so i grew up in the Quad Cities, which is 4 cities (woah no way) on the Illinois/Iowa border (i swear if someone somehow finds a way to dox me when i don't even live there anymore...)
and its kinda ghetto there a little bit lol
or at least the part i grew up in (it's Iowa what do you expect)
yeah that doesn't have much to do with the albums i picked, i just kinda wanted to share what my hometown was like

theres lot of REALLY TALL trees and stuff (one part of it is a national forest), and there's the Mississippi River y'know (the water is SO GROSS but ehhh idc), and there's this big ol' hill on the Illinois' side where you can look over the town, the roads are shitty to the point where it's hilarious, and it's just crazy there man
i wish i could live there again kinda, but ik that would just cause problems lmao (i live in boring perfect suburbia now...)

only one of them is good because the first album i picked was... Blurryface by Twenty One Pilots

it only reminds me of my hometown because me and my sisters would obsess about fuckin' warrior cats and looking at warrior cats games and art on scratch (yknow that kids coding website)...
but uh thanks to my oldest sister I CAN'T GET HEAVYDIRTYSOUL OUT OF MY HEAD LIKE EVER
(i don't listen to 21 pilots anymore, but when i do, it's just kinda as a joke lol)

um before i go insane i'll move onto the next album i picked
my oldest sister also showed me this, but this is album is actually good (my sister has good music taste (ik because i stole it) it's ok)

no, i have ZERO idea why this album reminds me of the Quad Cities
i think Helicopter and Desire Lines really do it for me tho
i think i made this blog post purely just to get yalls to listen to this album
actually i need to listen to this album more cause this is just so cool man
i should listen to this next time i go to the Quad Cities yeah

anyway have fun with these albums (or rather, only one album cause the other one i think we all know)

for our 3rd album we got WORRY. by jeff rosenstock... and you'll never guess how i found this album (it was from my sister too ok)

everything on this album just makes me wanna scream and teleport to the backrooms

staring out the window at your old apartment is just like. what. i used to live in an apartment and i remember the room number (it was 208) and its now my lucky number I JUST LOVE THIS ALBUM I WILL DO ANYTHING TO SEE FESTIVAL SONG PREFORMED LIVE (he is touring to chicago...) I THOUGHT I WOULD HATE THIS ALBUM???? BUT NO I LOVE IT

before i actually clip into the backrooms here's our fourth album

this album instead represents HOMESICKNESS because i believe that homesickness is one of the worst feelings anyone could ever have and its just awful and nobody should ever have to move across the state in the 3rd grade and lose all your friends

anyway heres the secret 5th album (this is your reward for reading all of this!)

OKOKOK IM KIDDING this is the only slipknot album i listened to and i only listened to it because it was called iowa and im from iowa
also did you know slipknot was from iowa? i swear iowa is one of the most underrated states
