first showers & nausea, post op: day 1

first full day! oversensitive physically and emotionally. went back to see the surgeon and got instructions for bandage removal over the next couple days. by the end of that, i was exhausted. soon enough seatbelts will become my friend again, but not today. in good news, i can now sleep for longer than 2hrs at a time :D (still sitting up, but i clocked abt 3 hrs of sleep this afternoon).

first shower was on my knees and i was shaking like a leaf by the end, requiring the assistance of both my mother and sister to put back on the compression bra and get dressed. stark reminder of just how easy i have to take it. it's so nerve wracking - so new and light and vulnerable feeling. rest, rest, and more rest on the schedule tonight. netflix. reading. the ush. it's a crazy feeling - nowhere near as strong as i usually am. and you just have to be patient and wait it out. it's the reminder like oh, shit, i did just have an insanely invasive surgery.
