Food FOOD FOOD!!!!

I love food and making food, but not as much as id like to (;⌣̀_⌣́)
But I am always curios about what other people make!! 

I've been lucky enough to try different flavors from my mom's cooking which made me interested in pursuing what other flavors there could be. BUT TBH i have nowhere to really start XD

A lot of my food options weigh heavy on what others recommend and then I kinda go off from there exploring recipes. (sadly most ingredients aren't available here sometimes-(-ω-、).

in the country im from (liechtenstein) we have this thing called Käsknöpfle. Its like mac n cheese egg noodles but more mature lmao
and if u dont like cheese there's always spatlze (basically the same thing without cheese or onions)

ingredients
3 cups flour
4 eggs
salt
1 cup water
8 oz grated swiss cheese. Can be substituted. Its good w gruyere, or just cheddar if ur not fancy
2 medium onions, slice thinly

anyway
take 3 cups of flour
sift it into a bowl, and than add salt
in a diff bowl, add 4 eggs, beat them, add 1 cup of water
add the eggs to the flour, mix it until its thick, but not too thick. It should be able to easily pass holes
anyway, leave the dough alone for a bit, like 20 mins, but it doesn't matter too much
when ur waiting, fry the onions in a lightly oiled pan. I like to add some sugar to them. stir until they are carmelised. It should take up to 20 mins
bring water to a boil
when the water is boiling there are two things you can do
1- push the dough thru a slotted spoon
which can be hard sometimes so
2- just put the dough on the bottom of a normal spoon and let in drop into the pot
u can tell its done once it floats up

now, take a container that is oven safe. Put a layer of the noodles in. add onions, than swiss cheese. add another layer, add onions and swiss cheese. keep doing this until you run out.


dont add the sugar to the onions if ur not into mixing flavors lol

We do have Spätzle here too! my step dad had a hug phase of just eating that with everything XD

hmm im vegatarian
ill use something else with umami flavours. maybe ill season some vegatables like potato skins to taste more bacony

tbh i usually just use mint or basil or seaweed, but i wonder if something like potato skins would mimic the texture better

If you eat soy you can season the soy skin to a similar flavor and fry it up a bit! :D
