So, as we all know, Helluva Boss season 2 is kind of shit
so like, everyone knows why, right? My main issues are with the pacing and writing. I hate how season two kind of just throws you from plot point to plot point without really giving you time to soak it all in. As soon as you mentally process that you're doing something, you're immediately thrust into something else. The writing was worse for me though IMO. Pretty much all of the jokes fall flat, mostly due to a variety of factors like poor delivery, poor timing, poor writing, etc. The most offensive example of this is Season 2 episode 3, but I'm not here to just shit on season 2, I wanna talk about season 1 episode 8.
Season 1 episode 8 fixes most of the issues I just listed above. It doesn't hurl you from plot point to plot point like a fuckin sling shot. It establishes where you are, and it actually keeps you there, which I really liked. The pacing was fairly decent, and I like how they gave Loona an actual character to build upon here. Most of what we've seen of Loona recently is like, cameo shit, where she maybe has one speaking line if she's lucky. It's been pissing me off, and I love how they made her the focus of the episode this time instead of making her just a side character or a borderline cameo character.
The newest character, Bee, was pretty well written too. I loved how they established that she was kind of Loona's rival at first, but they didn't make her just a stuck up petty bitch that only exists for the audience to shit on. They actually gave her somewhat of a character, and I loved it. I also really liked the song (even though it did kinda drag things out in the end with how long it was) and I fucking LOVED that they got kesha for this role. She actually did a good job voicing her.
Overall, good episode. It's not like, best episode of all time quality but its way way way better than the dogshit that we've been seeing lately with Helluva boss. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, or Vivzie anti. I love both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. I'm so critical of Helluva because I'm a fan. I've seen its potential, and I wish that it could actually live up to that in the second season. So yeah, this isn't me hating the show just to hate it. I'm just a maybe overcritical fan lol
anyways yeah those are my opinions on it if you don't like it then idk shove it up your bootyhole or something :) /lh
