For better or worse? I'm not really sure.
I find myself not being to keep up with current releases of music lately simply, as well as truly listen to the music I already have. Music used to be very much in the background constantly for me as some sort of emotional or work-related buffer, and I base a lot of feelings from my past in those same songs and albums to this day. But now I tend to look at at all music through a DJ-only lense, whether or not I can use a track in a set, etc. I don't get those same deep emotional connections with songs as I used to, maybe in part due to the fact I'm no longer viewing songs within a vacuum of listenability anymore.
Idk, I wonder if other DJs/producers etc suffer from this too. Or maybe it's just a growing up thing. I've always skimmed and surfed soundcloud, bandcamp and all that to a disgusting degree (my 16k+ soundcloud likes can prove that), but all that digging now just feels like i'm collecting and not really listening.
DJing has affected my ability to listen to music

I'm a film student and something similar happens to me with films.
I used to be able to enjoy films with no judgement, have fun with almost every single one I watched, but now I notice Many Things. I notice the montage / editing of it, the art direction, the narrative (to a point where films sometimes become predictable!) and in such a profesional way I cannot enjoy films blindly like I used to, it's a blessing and a curse. but also: not uncommon. if you're an artist, you're gonna notice the technique of other art pieces. kind of like a "tetris effect"
