The other day I was telling my cousin about the Oliva Rodrigo and Yena situation that happened a few days ago. I knew that she didn't know who Yena because she's a kpop idol and my cousin is not into kpop. She wanted to hear the song so we watched a lyric video because she wanted to see the lyrics and soon asked which one was Oliva.
I looked at her confused and she was like "oh, neither of them.", and I was like "no, she's not even in this song." I could my cousin was confused and I told her that Olivia is not a kpop idol, she's an american artist who makes music. She still didn't know her or her music which really surprised me. That's because my cousin is only 24 years old, I feel like she's in the age range to know who she is especially because Oliva is so popular but she didn't.
It's not that big of a deal but it really showed me that people can be on completely different sides of the internet.
