okay, so!!
I have a genetic condition called cookie bite hearing loss, from what I've heard (nd researched) it's where your eardrum kind of looks like someone took a bite out of it (creative, I know, I know)
With my condition, I cannot hear lower pitches that well, but I can hear higher pitches fairly well, so I have to do hearing tests and whatnot so my audiologist can determine what I need (because of my specific impairment, I cannot just buy a hearing aid from the market)
I'm pretty sure for the most part, it's in my left ear, but I do have to wear a hearing aid for it regardless! Here's what my current hearing aid looks like, it's for adults so it's all dull and you can hardly see it when in my ear but yaya
If you're curious, the lil clear plastic thing hanging from the blue ear piece is the tab, it helps keep it in but you can cut it off anytime, I choose to keep it bc I'm terrified of losing my hearing aid
Unfortunately, because my hearing impairment is genetic and had it since birth, I cannot get surgery to 'fix' my hearing ! D: On the brightside, I am used to my hearing impairment at this point, and I wouldn't even trade my soul for perfect hearing.
extra factoid:
With hearing aids for children, the speaker that's supposed to help them hear better is in the purple metal piece, and it'd have a tube so the sound can travel to the blue earpiece (see following image to see an example: my very first hearing aid)
Meanwhile, with some adult hearing aids (as displayed in previous photo about current hearing aid), the speaker is DIRECTLY in the earpiece, which from personal experience: helps me hear so much better!
but ya!! That's all I have, if you have any questions, feel free to ask :3
