Red Pandas!

I LOVE red pandas, so I decided to do some research on them! (They aren’t my favorite animal, that belongs to giraffes LOL!)

Red pandas, also known as Ailurus Fulgens (I do admit, I giggled at that name), are carnivorous mammals that live in the eastern himalayas and southwestern china! They eat mainly bamboo, as they are relatives from pandas (they have the nickname of “lesser pandas”). They have red or auburn fur, with off-white accents on their heads and tails. Their legs and tips of their tails are black. They have off-white and black stripes on their tails. They have medium long whiskers and small button noses (they look very *boopable* in my opinion) as well. They use their looks to camouflage into red moss and white-lichen covered trees to hide from predators!

They live primarily in the east and southeastern parts of the globe, which consists of: Nepal, China, India, Myanmar, and Bhutan! Though their species is very endangered because of deforestation and people hunting them for their fur. They also accidentally get trapped in traps that were made for wild pigs and deer. Why can’t people just leave animals alone? It makes me really mad whenever people hunt down animals just for their fur and such, have some self control and leave those creatures alone!

They communicate in several ways such as growls, barks, squeals, hoots, and many others! Hooting is a response to being approached by another animal, meanwhile bleating is a response to scent-marking and sniffing! The sounds they make are adorable! It just makes me melt LOL! Listen to them! (I wanna hold one so badly!!!! >_<)

Here are some other facts about the adorable little critters:

-They were the first panda!

-A red panda's diet is 98% bamboo! (Do they never get tired of it? :^c)

-Their tails are like their pillow!

-They glow in the dark! (They’re like the glow sticks of mammals!)

-They quack!

-They are vegetarian carnivores! (Odd, is it not? LOL!)
-All red pandas are born female!
