I'm back home!
The last week of my STEM program was pretty nice, for the most part, we just did site visits. It was super nice to take a break from classes and relax a little. Though I did spend the last couple of days at the program stressing about my group's research pitch, we ended up doing pretty well! People got really excited about the Mormon crickets we displayed.
After being somewhere that will soon be my home for a month, it was weird to come back to my room. My dorm was so empty yet my room at home is so full of stuff! Thankfully, my dorm won't be like that in the Fall. Also, my room wasn't messy, but also wasn't clean, so it looks like I'll be doing some chores this week. I also hope to tell some of my teachers who wrote my recommendation letters thank you.
Although I'm home, readjusting has not been easy. My body is sore, I'm tired, I can't sleep when I want to, and I'm having trouble eating because my schedule's been off. Hopefully, I can fix all of this soon, it's not fun feeling out of whack. Also, time seems to be flying; I don't want Summer to end! It feels like it just started (even though it's July, and for me, that's the halfway point of summer break). I'm about to work my ass off at college!
Yesterday, there was an extremely strong storm that resulted in our power going out for about an hour and a half. It was weird being without power, but it was also refreshing for the house to be completely quiet. The hum of the AC couldn't be heard, or the sound of electricity flowing through the house. My mom eventually lit candles so we could see since it started to get dark. The power came back on around 8pm and so I resumed going to bed as usual. I should be so grateful.
Lastly, some goodies I got:
I got this Across the Spiderverse poster while I was away and I finally got to frame it!
Next, I got one of the N Animatez, he's really cute. He's in his box as I speak, but I'll likely just take the figurine with me to college.
Lastly, I got The Speed of Sound CD! I was anticipating it the most during my grad party, but the initial order never came.
As for what's next, I have a family reunion, a party, and a vacation to experience in the next few weeks before I go off to college.
