my nostalgia

So pretty sad fact I was practically raised by YouTube. 

We would watch music videos (with my mom) at 4-5. Then my dad let me play on his computer at 5 and I found YouTube. This was in 2013. My dad has always been laid back, he didn't care what I watched as long as it wasn't sexual. My mom wanted to be strict but she never really was. She just yelled at me if she could hear swear words.

When I was really little I had a HUGE fixation on The Nightmare Before Christmas. I would constantly watch the song clips. Well one day I got a video in my recommended and that was...Skellington's Revenge! My first YTP. 5 year old me thought it was the most epic thing in the universe. It had everything: Spongebob, TNBC, MLP...I watched in on repeat. My dad watched it with me. Another fond memory of me and my dad was when we used to watch SMG4 on our TV.

But I got my first kindle when I was 6 years old with unlimited access to YouTube. I was a BIG MLP fan, so I consumed hundreds of hours of fan animations, pmvs, comic dubs etc. As well as gore and fetishes! My first exposure to gore was Smile HD. I was absolutely disgusted. I couldn't stop thinking about it after it was over. So I watched it over and over again until I had no problem with it. After that I found Cupcakes, which didn't scare me. You know what else I found? Pony.mov! I watched the whole thing and showed clips of it to my dad. We thought the shed one was hilarious! I thought it was funny more than gross, and because it turned the cutesy MLP dark.

I watched more and more mlp creepypastas, and Pinkamena was my favorite pony. I played Cupcakes with my dolls. The effect? An extremely cringey edgy phase at just 7-9 years old. Thankfully that meant me in my preteen years was less annoying.
