FAST FASHION OUTBREAK, MY PERSONAL OPINIONS:
You probably already know fast fashion sites like shein, temu and depop, they offer items, mostly clothing. Although this can be a great alternative for people that have a lower budget, overconsumption is a pretty big deal on the internet.
With the common 'trend' of overconsumption, come these websites. Many influencers have been doing MASSIVE hauls, spending HUNDREDS per week on these items, only for them to dump it all in thrift stores afterwards.
Imagine you worked 14 hours on a piece of clothing only to see a person use it in their clothing haul video and give it to a thrift store the next day.
Behind the scenes, real humans are working on these clothes and are getting paid VERY LESS, as well as children working in these shops. Thrift stores get flooded with these clothes, that aren't even of very good quality.
On the other hand, I do understand some people have a lower budget and the only way they can fit in, in terms of clothing is fast fashion. But, spending MASSIVE amounts of money for only wearing the clothes once? Most of these clothes are made of non-biodegradable materials, so dumping them away after only one use, isn't a good idea.
All in all, buying from fast fashion isn't necessarily bad, as long as you are responsible with what you buy.

depop isn't fast fashion haha it's for reselling second-hand clothes. other than that i completely agree, alternative people have been DIY-ing clothes for years. there's no need for $500 shein hauls and shit like that.
