⋆｡°✩₊ AX 2023 Anime Figure Announcements ! ⁺˚⋆｡°

So, AX 2023 is happening ! I'm not too excited about the convention itself (it's a bit overrated, but you didn't hear that from me) but what I am excited about are goodsmile's newest figure announcements ! For some reason, goodsmile considers it an important enough event to announce new figures at. Well, I guess it is just the largest anime convention in the USA ! 

So, since it is in the USA, it's kind of come to a point where I expect more western media to be receiving announcements of new figures. Or at least, more anime and games that appeal to western audiences. And we definitely have seen that so far from what they have announced today !

BTW, of course I'm only going to bring up the figures that caught my eye. If you'd like to see the other announcements for yourself, check out goodsmile's twitter!

First up are these Panty and Stocking pop-up parades we saw before. I'm happy to see any content for this series being released in 2023, tbh. That show is forever burned into my retinas.

Personally, I think Stocking looks way cuter here. Panty's face looks kinda off, like they had a hard time transferring her face to 3D. I guess it would be hard to translate these characters in this form to 3D figures given their cartoon-y 2D style.

To be fair, though, I think the figures that already exist of these characters in their cartoon forms look way better than these (the ones by Phat company). At least now they will technically be more accessible as a part of the Pop-Up Parade line.

I think Stocking will look even more adorable once we can see her iconic peek-a-boo hair in full color!

Next up is another Pop-Up Parade: this time, of Yuno Gasai, the yandere girl of all time.

I was so surprised to be reminded that she really barely had any figures of her! This one looks just okay to me, though. It's kind of a shame that it's not a scale with a larger budget - so that way she could have a more interesting pose and facial expression. I like the included axe, at least.

Ina's nendoroid was revealed in full color!

Genuinely one of the coolest nendoroids I've seen. I hope she's not sold at a premium price point. Her tentacles look so fucking awesome - that's about all I have to say. Ina is always calming to watch, especially while she's drawing.

The final two DDLC girls' nendoroids were shown.

They look cute! It's about time they were shown. Natsuki and Monika's looked astounding, so I'm excited to see what sorts of accessories these come with. And also a little scared. And worried. Would goodsmile particularly care about trigger warnings and sensitivity when it comes to marketing these girls? We will have to wait and see how the public responds to that.

Here we have yet another Pop-Up Parade: Maka! One of my favorite characters of all time.

I love how they sculpted her body and clothing here. The way her hair and cloaked jacket whooshes in the non-existent wind gives this figure an appearance like she's (somewhat) in motion. At least, it looks epic.

The charm point about this figure for me is probably her shoes. I love how chunky they look. It kind of captures the manga's art style a little more.

If I had one complaint, it might be her expression. It looks a little unfinished/awkward.
