Ppl can create bad characters without condoning their actions

I've seen ppl get mad at the creator of something becuz the characters in it are toxic or abusive and the person complaining will say something like "oh their show/comic has this in it, how can u support them?" And it's so stupid becuz lots of things have abusive characters in it and that's the point. Characters have back stories and some have sad back stories and some of those characters are abusive becuz it's part of their character and part of the plot. 

Just cuz that character is toxic doesn't mean the creator supports those actions, it just means they wanted to create a toxic character for the plot and to show the effects of abuse and trauma and to make it more realistic

Ofc whether they do a good job does matter, it's not good the misrepresent something srs like that. For example, I like ghost eyes but I think some of the things at the beginning of the webcomic could have been handled with more care, it has improved since then tho and the creator has stated they don't support the actions of the character

The characters aren't all meant to be like the creator, they're meant to be different and all represent different ppl and personalities, getting mad at a show for having something like abuse in it is stupid unless it normalizes or romantizise the abuse
