emo

Around 1984 the band "rites of spring" formed, this band started a new music genre called "Emotional hardcore" or "Emotive core" now the first wave of emo is very different than people know emo as today. The band themselves dont consider themselves emo and dont like the music genre because "all hardcore is emotional" THEY'RE WRONG BECAUSE IT IS EMO. anyways so gradually the emocore music genre changed. around the 90s skramz formed, skramz is a different name for original screamo because people kept saying non skramz stuff was screamo. this is one of my favorite emocore waves my favorite bands being "I hate sex" and "orchid" theyre super good. alright so around the 2000s is when things changed, bands like "my chemical romance" and "panic! at the disco" are technically not considered emo but they have a massive part in emo culture so im mentioning them. the 2000s pop punk emo scene was a lot  different than any other emo wave, most people only know about this wave. 2000s screamo is another very good emo genre, bands like "i set my friends on fire" "attack attack" and "asking alexandria" are popular examples of this, some of these bands are considered more metalcore but i still love them
