This is so better in person.

For me, I’ve been seen as the shy kid and / or introvert at my school. I don’t talk to a lot of people or kids MY age, yet I’ve always hated everyone and everything, but when I was showed this website “MySpace” everything changed, I do have a few friends in person but this website just changed my perspective, like what?? I don’t hate anyone here, I don’t feel the need to be shy or introverted anymore, this website cures my introverted-ness and shy-ness to being “Hey, as long as I’m not talking to anyone in person … it’s all good.” I don’t know if anyone feels the same way about the way I feel about this website but I love this so much, and along with that I barely make online friends. Y’all have the same interests as one another and that’s how easy it is, I love chatting with y’all so much. This really means something to me <3.

Sounds similar to my story, except I came on to the scene in the internet at a bit older of an age than you (around 15-16 for online social interactions).

Being a AuDHD, queer, disabled kid really made finding and making friends at my local school difficult. Most of them were just types I hung out with, I never really felt that close to many of them. I only remained in contact with a few of them after graduating...

The internet on the other hand allowed me to discover myself, learn more about my neurodivergence, my gender identity, my sexuality, interpersonal/mental health, and more!

It allowed me to interact on my terms, set my own accommodations, and overall have some semblance of healthy interaction and growth. It allowed me to work out my anxiety to a degree, to heal from the countless wounds large and small inflicted on to me.

Without the internet idk if I would of survived.

I'm glad you're finding your place! It's going to be an important way forward for you in the future, if you end up like me at all.

I could think the same like your response! It is really good to have the internet but at other times it has things that you wish you didn’t see. But I totally understand and agree with your message! I’m so glad someone really understands. If this internet didn’t exist, none of us would be who we are now with sexuality’s, genders, etc.
