♡ 100 of My Favorite Things !! ♡

I'm Lauren ! Aka "chu-chuns," "chu," or whatever other silly nickname you can think of! (^^;)

I just recently completed a personal diary of mine (a physical one!) that I've had for about six years now. Yes, there was a period of time in which I was not writing in it as much as I should have been, but nevertheless, I'm proud I was able to reach the last page. Now, it's time to move on to something new.

For a few weeks, I began searching for the *perfect* notebook to start my new journal. Alas, I was never able to commit to any in particular - let alone give up the 12 or so $'s it would have taken out of my bank account (orz;).  So, I figured why not try out making and maintaining a spacehey blog as a bit of a digital journal? That way, I can customize it whenever and however I like! (and it's free!)

So, without further ado, I think for my first blog entry, I'll attempt to make a list of 100 of my favorite things - no connections required. ( / w\); Hopefully this gives anyone who might be reading this a better understanding of who I am!

1. My sweet partner's beautiful smile  ♡

2. Whipped cream; whether it's on strawberry shortcake, iced coffee, ice cream, or a body - that creamy fluffy goodness offers the perfect little drop of happiness that we all need to pick up our days (I love myself a little treat) 

3. Sumomo ! No, not the one from chobits... but the idol froggy from keroro gunso we all know and love! Though she doesn't get the most screentime, whenever she is present in an episode, it's always guaranteed to become one of my favorites. Her solo song, "Koisuru Shooting Star," is such an underrated bop!

4. Orange Caramel (the kpop group!) They had the best balance of quirky, cute and catchy comebacks. I love all the members - and how they each brought something unique to their identity as a subunit ♡

5. Amy Rose ! Her genuine dedication to helping others is so inspiring~

6. Singing ... I've never taken any classes or anything, but the act itself seems to bring me joy. I also really appreciate listening to others sing!

7. Kayaking!

8. Classic vocaloid tuning/music... it's very nostalgic for me and brings me comfort to listen to

9. Cooking. Somehow it's easier than baking,

10. Playing rhythm games at the arcade! Specifically Project Diva and DDR. I grew up practicing DDR, and have always dreamt of a day where I could see the Project Diva cabinets in the flesh.

11. Eggs - they're full of protein, but also taste wonderful, generally. Especially when gooey.

12. Decora fashion! My eyes get so visually stimulated seeing the bits and bobs merging together to create a harmonious symphony of colors on people's heads and clothing.

13. Persona 4. I know it gets cringed on for being a "power of friendship" game, along with other reasons, but it made me feel a little less lonely during a time I really needed company.

14. Snakes/Animals in general. I don't have the means or resources required to responsibly own any pets right now, but I still often watch animal-related content, research proper husbandry and frequently visit my local zoo, of which I'm very proud of for their conservation efforts and excellent care. I cry so much whenever I see animals struggling... ;

15. To be honest, paper and pencil. Due to how I grew up, I'm more comfortable with those tools in my hands when it comes to drawing and writing.

16. Early 2000's internet animation memes and music. Nightcore and the like! It's catchy.

17. Low-poly character designs and graphics. I admire artists that can create adorable, memorable designs while maintaining a core simplicity.

18. Diet coke. The flavor of cola, and the actual drink and its aesthetics ^^;

19. PangYa! If you don't know what it is, it's a really cute anime golf game that has the most adorable low-poly characters and customization options! The official game is shut down now, but thankfully there's fan servers that made it possible to keep the game playable online! (The soundtrack is so calming too...)

20. The feeling of a PSP in my hands.

21. The Idolm@ster franchise! My main branches are Cinderella Girls and 765pro. Some of my oshis are: Nana Abe, Yayoi Takatsuki, Noriko Shiina~

22. Rewatching old Lucky Star episodes. No matter the episode, I never get bored.

23. Dangan Ronpa~ I find the stories genuinely intriguing!

24. Nitro+ visual novels - I haven't been able to play all of them, but I really enjoyed Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi, SoniComi and Saya no Uta~

25. Flipnote hatena. I made so many childhood memories on it, and I think it's peak internet. Just a bunch of kids being so creative and having fun.

27. Style Savvy/Girl's Mode! I feel so blessed to have been able to play such cute fashion games growing up. I've been excited for its spiritual successor, "Fashion Dreamer," for a long time now!

28. Gyaru - the fashion, makeup and the lifestyle. The evolution of the style is fun to track and follow. Plus, it always feels good to see a community looking our for each other the way Gyaru does.  

29. Snoopy/Charlie Brown. It's a genuinely funny and charming show!

30. Love Live! Mostly Muse, Aqours and Nijigasaki. I've liked it since I was young. Some of my oshis are: Rina, Nico, and Honoka.

31. Learning and teaching Japanese! I make an effort to engage with the Japanese language each day so that I can keep it fresh in my brain. I studied abroad in Japan for 6 months in 2022 and it was probably the best time of my life so far! I also really enjoyed teaching a little Japanese to my students who were interested.

32. Learning Spanish! The language sounds so pretty...

33. Cardcaptor Sakura

34. Matcha... (drools)

35. Playing board games with my family! (Specifically simple, fun party games...;)

36. Organizing! I love decluttering and seeing things I care about become clean again.

37. City Pop~

38. Coloring a drawing to completion.

39. NANCY DREW PC GAMES. Yes, I know they're corny as hell. I love them for it.

40. The creamy, garlic-y ramen I had from an unassuming shop off the highway in Hirakata, Japan.

41. The mazesoba from Roman, a soba shop right outside my university in Hirakata, Japan. The egg in the center had a gorgeous orange glow.

42. Kawaramachi in Kyoto. One of my favorite places to have a stroll.

43. Same with Teramachi-doori.

44. Malls! I love getting dressed up all silly and walking around looking at all the little shops.

45. Sbarro. Nummy pizzer.

46. Anime figures!

47. Comfortable weather - not too hot or too cold ^^;

48. Fireworks (controversial, ik...)

49. Hokkaido Milk ~

51. Christmas cookies - especially when I can "help" (seven-layer cookies are my favorite)

69. shugo chara ! my fav is amulet heart ♡ ホップステップジャンプ～ I first watched it when I was 11 or 12 while visiting my grandparents? ^^;

70. Digital Witch Mayura ! it'd be a dream to be able to play with her and read all of her ghost dialogue one day...
