Why do marching band kids (minus colorguard) get such a bad rep?

Heyhey !! First blog entry! I hope people see this, because this is something I'm super interested in finding out!

   I'm in a highschool colorguard, and more often then not, the majority of the band kids (mainly the musicians) often get a bad reputation.

    Now, I'm not in the musicians since I'm either with my pompoms or my flag, but I always hear that "band kids are creeps" or that they have outdated, often bigoted humor. I don't know if I can't tell this difference since my colorguard is primarily female, and we keep mainly tend to stick with our sections, but when I do talk, I always tend to have really wholesome conversations with the musicians !!

     It could differ from schools and social spaces, but this just peaked my interest! If you've had any experiences (good or bad) with marching band kids, reply in the comments!
