My TooManyGames Trip

TDLR: toomanygames was fun. met the mario man, met bob wullf, met the spawncast, bought games, went home.

Its been a day since i got back from TooManyGames in pennsylvania! I was there for the whole weekend and i wanted to talk about my trip! (and definitely not make a draft script for my new video)

Day 1: 

Day 1 was the drive there. from where i live, it was 5 hour drive more and less and i drove most of it. The drive wasnt bad, but the last hour I just didnt feel like driving anymore so I passed it to eddy. Our first stop was at a Waffle House because I definetly was not going to go south of new jersey without eating some waffle house. It was okay. Afterwards we went to The Great King of Prussia Mall. King of Prussia is alot like the mall in boston since its separated into two parts: the class and the classless. LOL. It was okay. 

We parked the car in the mall's parking lot and took an uber to TooManyGames. 

When we got there, there was a pretty decent line for the entrance for the badges. Once inside and badge-ful, i saw the first influencer: ant dude. Yeah I saw antdude just posted up and I was too pussy to go up and say what up LMAO I dont know why though. Admittedly, I dont watch Antdude as much as the other youtubers i was there to see. That's what stopped me, i didnt want to be a dickrider asking for a picture/autograph for a person i don't watch much in reality. instead I just held my ego to my chest and watched him walk away. 

We walk into the event and see a big ol hall that reminded me of the manton big top flea market but trust me its a convention. This really showed the big difference between PaxEast/West and TooManyGames. Pax is much more a big display for developers to show off what their working on, mixed with sellers and tournaments. TooManyGames is much more of a gaming community event with sellers and celebrity meetups being more of the attraction for people. There wasnt much developers there promoting their games with demos or info kiosks (other than wrestle quest sellingme a case with a code instad of a disc but i aint mad!!) The vast majority was just resellers and people wanting to throw their cash for some cold hard games! Me personally, i can dive into both. I love the grand events and halls of pax but i also love the gutters of the toomanygames gamer trenches. But let me move on... 

So I had a plan for each day was going to be used. Day 1 - Meet the Mario Man. 

Other than taking in all the options of games to buy, me and eddy rushed to the back of the event and saw the quickly growing line to the mario man himself: Charles Martinet. Eddy was brought his mario 64 render poster and was extremely excited, I on the other hand was keeping my cool and keeping all my fan girling inside like a man. Infront of us we had a guy dressed like TOTK link and he was mad chill, just wanted to add that. Thankfully, charles is a master of moving the fuck on, and no one person takes up too much time and everyone is really nice and polite in line, really cool to see everyone so excited and happy just to meet one person, me included. Eddy got his signature and i got my pictures, I said thank you for every thing and he gave me a "thank you for-a playing ma game! Wahoo!" and god damn it, thats all i ever wanted to hear. 

Afterwards, jaden already bought every game he mentioned he needed for his collection and was tired, so was I after that line. I bought a few things and went to the hotel. Cool day. 

Day 1 Haul:

Day 2: 

Since I already gave a description of the place then ill stop spewing, lets get to business. 

Day 2 had one goal in mind : get the influencers to sign my copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2007 Tim Burton Version.

When I was waiting for the charles pictures, i noticed a booth that said beatemups, I also noticed that i never saw the youtuber beatemups in that booth all three days lmao. The first influencer I saw was Bob Wulff from the Wulff Den. Okay this is really embarrassing because Bob wulff was in the middle of a conversation with a another youtuber and i really didnt want to interrupt cause that feels really rude so i kinda just stood near them all awkward n shit and just decided to leave LMFAOOO yo jaden saw the whole thing and that made it worse. I felt like such a bitch lmao. Later on I just stood like 10 feet away and amped myself up until i just walked up and hopefully not rudly interuptted their conversation. I asked him to sign and the first thing he said was " what the fuck is that?!" LMAO once the ice was broken i wasnt nervous no more an dwas just talking but still, i dont like taking up peoples time so i just made it quick, said thanks and left. 

After walking around a bit, i ran into spawn wave and dreamcast guy, 

 The only problem is that they were talking with fucking bob wulff so that meant i had to interrupt another one of his conversations so that was great lol. This one took me less time to ready myself but still took a while, walked up to them and interrupted like an asshole and made em sign the box. Dreamcast guy even recorded himself signing the charlie box cause he thought it was funny so that was cool. took a picture with the three of em, bought some games, and went to the hotel. Cool Day. 

Actually we went to downtown philadelphia to explore a bit so that was neat. Still like the prov skyline more than the philly skyline. 

Day2 Haul:

Day 3: 

Day 3 was the day to haul ass 

I didnt mention it much, but i plan to turn this into a video for my channel (YT: GEN) so the third day was strictly a filming day and msotly spent the day filming the whole venue and all the stores that were there incase i need some b roll footage in the video. I definitely have some flaws when recording these type of videos. for one, iddint film meself buying my stuff much, just gonna appear in the end. Second, i didnt record myself interacting with the people i wanted to meet. This was mostly because im an actual fan of these people and didnt want to just start filming them out of nowhere, felt kind of rude. I just wanted an genuine interaction and thats what i got. But admittedly, wouldve been beter for the viewer to see these interactions. oh well. 

After filming the perimeter, we said fuckit and decided to scrape the botttom of the barrel and see what we could find today. I wasnt excepting to find much 

well fuck me then cause im pretty sure the third day is when i spent the most money LMFAO i didnt think i was going to find so much good stuff but i did. sadly i cant list em cause theyre in my car and i dont want to go get them at 1:48 am cause im chillin rn. 

But after tipping my credit card over 500 dollars (YEESH) we decided to go back home. I drove the whole 5 hours back and dropped off the homies safe n sound. i even got to see a bunch of old friends when i dropped off jaden so that was nice. love them guys.

So overall, TooManyGames was a really fun time and i loved being there! that being said, I dont think I will be attending toomanygames next year. I just dont find it worth it to drive 5 hours and worry about finding a hotel. I just dont wanna deal with it to be honest. If I lived closer then oh yeah i would be there every year but the distance just kills it for me. going to TooManyGames did inspire me to discover some more local new England events that would be easier attend and be a part of. 

On another note, and this could just be me being stupid. But, I think TooManyGames is way more nerdier than Pax LMFAO. I dont know how to explain it but the crowds energy were just a bit different. No one was rude or mean everyone was a delight at both events but you can tell that the people a toomanygames were fucking capital g GAMERS and they were in the mud wrestling pit for the goods. No hate ofc, just something i noticed.
