AI art (RANT)

AI art, I don't really like it.

Setting aside the fact it takes from other artist, my stance on AI art is that, it's nice to use it as a tool, to use to transform, edit, and use for inspiration, but I do not think people could profit off of creation of raw AI works

I have been seeing so much AI art on deviantart when I log, and for a long time I was like "oh well, I can just ignore it it's fine luwl." and I'd just probably make fun of it when I can, I have a weird eye for noticing AI art, now that deviantart forces you to tell people it's AI art I get to play guessing games on if I'm correct or not luwl.

sometime passed and Deviantart comes out with a function that allows people to sell adoptables, and I went "wow that's great, an easier way to sell your adoptables!" that was until I started noticing that people were starting to sell AI art and designs. this was even before they forced people to confirm that the art was AI. even if they were confirmed most of the AI art isn't even edited in the first place, you can still point out "hey this jacket isn't quite right" or "hey this tail is coming from her leg"

Ex:
^(belongs to Jellieadopts on deviantart)

there are a lot of them however who do try to edit it to look more presentable. but to myself I think "then why not just redraw the character", since another problem I have is that, with some of these, they design elements can be so vague that anyone can interpret certain elements, and at that point I suggest adopters to just go ai generate some designs yourself, I've defiantly used "thisanimedoesnotexist" to make designs before. people who make these adoptables should just redraw the characters and make sense of the elements, especially when the AI art includes turnarounds for characters

I also just find AI art is like taking such a large shortcut compared to the people who have to go through the work of actually thinking about the details that go into creating a character design, drawing the sketch, seeing what palette best fit the character ect. theres a chance that the people who makes a lot of these adopts don't actually understand "the craft" in the first place, or what makes/how a good design is made. I will say, I'm not like, the worlds best artist, but I do have times where I have to look through like 4 different palettes for an OC. same can also be said for AI art pieces that aren't exclusively adopts.
another thing is, there are accounts, purely made to sell these AI adopts, and as far as I can tell, they can absolutely just pump these out. not to mention there are accounts that just post AI art as well (typically I don't mind this) that also sell just the AI art piece as an adopt, it's not even a character.

I don't really think people can do anything about this all anymore, I'm at least happy most warn buyers that the characters are made from AI. unless there is law for AI in the future, nothing can be done, all there is in terms of copyright is, the user only hold copyright over everything they've transformed. I guess if people yell hard enough websites can surpress or ban AI, I know artstation finally put their foot down on AI art, Deviantart seems to gain an AI surpression option as well
I guess, in terms of selling AI artworks vs artwork created by individuals is, AI artwork can't always make a client happy, especially when they want artwork of an OC, I typically get confused how AI commission work... well.... works in the first place.

AI work and handmade work will basically now be like, handmade clothing vs manufactured clothing, difference is, artwork isn't a necessity, AI artwork will most likely tend to drown out others who put work into their craft, and it's upsetting to see.
