Is human presence on Mother Earth Parasitic?

In nature, everything is very neatly balanced. Every species depends on other species and in the larger picture it comes around a full circle. So if you look at something in isolation you might think some species are parasitic but in the larger picture they fit somewhere.

Humans due to their higher cognition abilities have the ability to turn things to their advantage but it comes at a cost. It disturbs the balance in nature and slowly the repercussions start to be felt.

Humans have another flaw that worsens the situation, Greed. They keep taking everything and upsetting the balance further and further. There will come a point when the balances will tip so far that the scales themselves might topple.

Parasites are not greedy, what they do is use the host for their advantage whereas humans out of greed keep accumulating resources far beyond they would ever need in their entire lifetime. A leech does not suck blood till the host is dry, it sucks blood to the point it is full without giving back anything in return.

Humans milk the environment and others till it runs dry, not until they are full. Humans are never full. This is beyond parasitic, its just gluttony. What needs to happen is that humans must evolve to a point where they think towards a collective good not selfish gains.

I think that portraying all humans as greedy is an untrue generalization when many people care about the current climate crisis and want to reduce their carbon/plastic footprints. I think that the billionares/CEOs who do the most harm are greedy, but calling every person greedy is a generalization that can also lead down a slippery slope into ecofascism.

You have good points, but i don't see the act of being extremely worried about our enviroment turning me racist all of a sudden. Which ecofascism pretty much is: "racist vegans" in a nutshell.

I do however think we need drastic action in nearby future if we want to somehow save our enviroment.
