this looks cool but I don't run windows. Any idea if it works in Wine on Linux?
Does this not work on windows xp? Got a virtual machine up and it's having issues

I haven't been able to get it working. I tried various versions under a Windows XP VM and none of them worked. It even says on the site that I can patch 4.7 which is what Windows XP comes with but after much trial and error now the older version doesn't launch and the newer versions won't let me log in even after running the patcher and rebooting. I don't know if the issue stems from me using the 64 bit version of XP but I assume that if it installs and runs that it shouldn't be an issue. The program starts it just doesn't let me log in

I'd love to get this working on XP even if it's a VM to have an authentic early 2000's experience. I used to use WLM back in the day and MySpace as well so having WLM and now Spacehey working in Windows XP would be so cool

I even went in by hand into regedit to make sure that the Escargot patcher worked and it did. For both the older Windows Messenger and WLM 2009 it has the server listed as being msnmsgr.escargot.chat.
I even followed a guide in the forum for people having login issues under Windows XP which required updating some certificates and disabling SSL and leaving only TLS enabled but nothing. It's still not letting me log in on either version

from what I can tell in the forum it seems that the issues I'm having only happen under XP and Vista since they are so out of date. If I was on Windows 7 it might now have any of these issues

I'm still having an issue logging in. It's now telling me that I entered the wrong username or password. I won't show my password of course but the username is supposed to be angela@escargot.chat right?

yeah it even works when I sign in through the website but it still doesn't work in WLM. I'm gonna try some of the older versions but I have almost no hope at this point
