Journal Entry #54: 06/24/23 - (A Little Less Than) One week left

I ended up having a dream about being at home. I don't believe that's indicative of wanting to go home, it may just have been the setting because it's familiar. I don't really remember anything else about the dream though. I will admit, I'm ready to go home. It's not that I feel bad here or anything, but I'd like to enjoy the rest of my summer back at home before I have to stay on campus for roughly four months.

So, we have new additions in our residence hall, these being incoming nursing students. I'm not really a fan of them, unfortunately. The boys couldn't handle themselves around them when they first arrived. They also made me realize how thin the walls are in this residence hall. I'm sorry, but they are kinda loud, and having to share the common rooms isn't fun. In fact, the main common room is a mess right now with food wrappers. Why didn't they clean up?

Classes have ended, which is nice. We're supposed to just do site visits this last week and work on our projects. That brings me to my next point: the research projects. I don't know what it is, but my team kinda sucks. We just lack the energy needed to get this project done. We barely have an idea right now because what we presented to the supervisor wasn't really a research project, rather, a simple informative powerpoint with an unrealistic solution. Obviously we can't present nothing, the supervisor will make sure of that. Also, we can't present something bad or extremely flawed either. Oh well, I shouldn't panic, we should get the help we need.

I've also been thinking about my dorm room for the fall. It will be smaller than the one I'm currently in, and will not have a laundromat. Looks like I'm gonna have to hall my laundry everywhere. I also need to figure out how to lighten my backpack, carrying it around has been a hassle! In terms of decor, I really want to make it homey. My dorm room right now feels a little plain, since there was no point in bringing decor in for a less than one month stay. I have a few ideas. Of course I'll have some photos printed and I'm bringing my Spiderverse poster. In addition, I want some star fairy lights, a star-shaped pillow, a star-shaped rug, and a starry blanket. We'll see what my parents say.

But yeah, I want to go home. I shouldn't let that occupy my mind too much though, the week will go too slow.
