Opinion on gatekeeping

Im gonna be so real this is a heavy topic for me since i care so heavily for music and its my first blog so i wanna make a good impression. I am willing to hear everyone out since I know others will feel so strongly about this. But i think that yk gatekeeping can be good most of the time. I myself am in a band and definitely want get my name out there, but there is a certain point where the content that people make would make me uncomfy and straight up cringe. However, that just comes with the internet and is inevitable cause...its the internet. It should be important to note that gatekeeping can be taken too far just as everything else, so its hard for me to have a straight up yes or no answer(usually based on context). Like let people enjoy the shit they enjoy doing, and sometimes that stuff is gatekeeping and discovering underground bands because that's what they enjoy, its a passion. Likewise, people should also discover new bands and want to get into new genres....BUTTTTI feel in order to truly enjoy the music you have to put in the time and effort to find these bands for yourself as it proves your true interest. It is nice to hear bands I love come up on my fyp, but it also kinda stinks when people who have no idea, and are not willing to learn, flaunt the music to make themselves more popular. I.E use the sound just to get likes then like fucking bully the same people that enjoy that music. THAT makes me so angry bru. BUT also, like if someone is willing to like learn or just listen, im so coolio with that man; BECAUSEEE at least they are enjoying the music and trying yk? i think really as long as someone is enjoying the music and genuinely has a passion for it then they have all rights to learn and grow into the genre. I say this because ik there are people out there that will fake being into a genre or even like listening to certain songs only to impress someone, and that like weirds me out fr. I know im not going to change anyones opinions on the topic, but I want to at least clarify why a lot of people in the metal community gatekeep and feel so strongly for the music, man. With that being said, if you gatekeep without knowing anything about what you're gatekeeping...that's mad embarrassing brotha. Like i said i'd like to get some other peoples opinions on this cause i don't want to be a massive cuck about this. On the internet you are going to get upset at things, and majority of the time they are out of your control, so just live laugh love your way through it cause in the long run this junk dont matter. Anywho, love you guys and keep gatekeeping stinkabutt!
