tofu recipe ! ! !

tofu ! Hi! I am Antonio, this blog works for anyone that wants to do tofu at home !!!


Cooking time:                                     Portions:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of soybeans (800 g)
  • 60 ml of lemon juice
  • water
  • 1 filter cloth
  • 2 containers for tofu

Preparation:

  1. Soak the soybeans in water from the day before. It will have doubled in size by the next day.
  2. Discard the water and blend the soybeans with clean water* at maximum speed until it becomes like milk.
  3. Filter the “milk” with the filter cloth.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and stir the foam as it forms on the water. Turn off and leave to cool, until lukewarm.
  5. Add the lemon juice and let the “milk” cut for almost 2 hours.
  6. Filter again. Wrap the tofu with the cloth; using a large hollow container with a grid underneath the container, let the tofu water filter through.
  7. Put weight on top of the other container until a reasonable amount of water has drained out.
  8. Leave in the refrigerator until the next day.

*Every 2 cups of soaked soybeans should be blended with 4 cups of clean water.
