my first exam, very scared!!

today, 19th june 2023, ive taken my first exam

one thing ab me is that i never study. im kinda one of those "gifted kids" who understand pretty quickly (not at everything tho haha). however in the last few days i weirdly have been trying to study for my first exam (at romanian!) and i hope i did a pretty good job.

the exam goes like this: you get two texts. the first one can be a narrative text, a poem or a play. the second one is always something like an article or a biography.

poems are the worst tho. u have to understand all those confusing metaphors and crazy figures of speech - eww! every1 including me thought that we'd get a poem, so i STUDIED sooo much. ive read hundreds of poems (8 actually lol) but in the end...it was all in vain...

we got a narrative text. i was like 'OMG so easy thank god' but then i realised it wasn't just a simple narration but some kind of fable... like Snow White... and the second text was a random biography of this guy who spent his life in the humble countryside of romania or smth..

at problem no 6, i was supposed to find two figures of speech...ive found an epithet (what a weird word) and a comparison. however, i wrote the comparison as: "like Prince Charming" and i thought thats enough but now I'm thinking that perhaps i should have written the whole sentence: "the girl didnt go/walk [...] like Prince Charming"...i will probably lose a point or two... (also ik it sounds weird in english but it rly is a comparison)

now the next exercise no 7 was even worse... i had to find a "common element" between these texts. at first, u could say "in both texts, the characters take care of animals". BUT some months ago, at the Mock Exam, i said a similar thing and it was wrong. so today at the exam, i thought that the relationship between humans and animals may not be an element / a theme but a MOTIF**. so what did i say? what was for me the real theme? EDUCATION. ive said that both characters are respectful and nice to people around them, therefore they are educated...

**spoiler: i was wrong - the animal thing was a theme... sigh...

skipping exercise no 8, we get to no 9: describe a book with a similar value (thats how its called in my country idk). value doesnt always mean theme but i thought in my case it did. the value of the text was again EDUCATION sooo hmmmm what book has something to do with that? what book has its mc wanting to find his purpose in life? to become someone? a gentleman? yes. 'GREAT EXPECTATIONS' BY CHARLES DICKENS.... im so stupid..

and the final subject was to characterise the mc from that fable we were given. easy. hopefully i made no mistakes and it makes sense what i wrote there...

after the exam was done, the first thing i did was to call my teacher from my tutoring class. ive told her what ive done and she said that education was a good thing. i still have my suspicions about my questionable writing but now that i think of all of these, maybe i will get a high grade. i believe in myself. i will get in a good high school hopefully. ive talked with some classmates and ive came to the conclusion that hey, maybe i did a good job...

the thing that lets me down is that when i took a mock exam, i said the same thing and i got 82-83%...

But no. i will get a good grade. i WILL. i am manifesting.

anyways i know i wont get 100% and thats totally fine, im a human after all and i make mistakes and honestly im not *that* disappointed of myself. i feel a bit optimistic.

tmrw i have maths tutoring class because on wednesday ill have the maths exam.i think ill be better at that lol

anyways wish me luck so i will get a good grade in both exams and get in a good high school, otherwise i will probably have a mental breakdown and my parents will seriously think of getting me in therapy because of how stressed, anxious and depressed i am

bye
