present day, present time


hi, this is my first blogpost, i'll just be talking about life stuff and linux/unix for a couple days until i figure out what to write about.


firstly, tomorrow i'll be getting a new laptop, it's an used thinkpad t450 -- 1tb hdd, 8gb ram and an intel i5 processor --, not the greatest thing ever but it's what i can afford.

i can't wait to start hacking on it, i plan to make a fresh install of arch linux on it, just a standard archinstall with a minimal suite of apps and qtile as the window manager. gonna get a new file manager, a new display manager, and i'll try some tips i've seen on the internet to make my stuff more stable and secure -- encrypting my hard drive and making a separate /home partition.


it's gonna be so better to code stuff on it too, gah i can't wait to get my new stuff.
