I like indie rock as well, not just emo. Here’s some that I like
Pavement. They have a slacker type feel, some of their songs are dreamy and they have that signature 90s band aura. Their music is like sunshine.
Alvvays. They sound very Canadian, pretty much pop but without advanced production or that much popularity/mainstream sound.
Titanic Sinclair. Not a band, but his music sounds very dreampop and nostalgic. It’s like longing for a time that is long gone but not far away. Like Weezer but less production and nerdiness.

have you listened to Test Icicles? they’re an indie band from the 2000’s who kinda sit on the far side of emo, a little heavy on the eyeliner, but they do really groovy indie disco anthems. you should give em a listen!
