Why do you keep hold of that rope?

making your arms sore

tiny cuts on your hands

no ones keeping you there 

you keep hold of that rope

does the pain comfort you?

soothes you?

you have found a home in the pain of that rope

now if you let go

it will hurt more

the numbing will leave

you will panic at the lack of comfort

no not comfort

pain

but your use to that pain

you're scared to let go

thinking you'll fall

but there's no ledge
