i finally talk about tub ring's music

hi i really like tub ring right now so im gonna list some of my favorite songs of theirs/songs i like despite not having listened to them all yet (i meant to but yaknowww (i listened to a few extras for this heheh)) this is not a ranking btw i havent listened to them intently enough for that. im just sayin words and kindof explaining myself maybe

psychology is b.s. (not science)

"but what they dont know, could fill a room."

i like the instrumental (nice to hum), and the lyrics are like candy to me i dunno why. sounds like having friends, but still being super lonely. your friends are sad too, so what else are you to do ? doctors dont help, they just repeat the same stuff you already know, and thats pretty much the gist of what i get from the song

at the seams

"i see you smile so i know youre quite content-"

literally so funky i dont even need a reason. i hope this never happens again either bro. the intro (plus other part) with the zhwuooo instrument sound is so dope too

living with rene's head

"will the universe cease to be? because it all revolves around me!"

i really love the eighties-esque funk portions that comes in at some points, so dance-worthy. its transitions from one music style/genre is so fun, and also might go hand in hand with some symbolism. anyways now for the brainy stuff. the name rene means "rebirth", which in the case of this song, may not be that literal. at first, the lyrics are quite positive. it talks about progress and looking on the bright side, before the harsher music kicks in and the lyrics become quite negative towards both the world and the singer themselves. the contrasting lyrics and instrumental could represent the singer is fighting with themselves, taking the line "repress morals taught since birth" into much consideration. as we continue on, the lyrics have a slightly more narcissistic tone, stating that the world revolves around them, the singer, and they wonder what would happen once they die. now lets look back at the title. rene's head may refer to having a change in mindset, therefore the lyrics portray someone living through a changing mindset, "living with rene's head". the song could very well be about someone attempting to grow from a very negative look at life and themselves, the cheery tune representing their current beliefs, and the less cheery being their previous ones. theyre trying their best to have a healthy way of thinking and viewing the world, but clearly still having issues with past narcissism and pessimism. despite how much they try to deny the way they think, its all in their mind, you know ? i hope i processed all of that into words properly

we are the righteous

"i wouldnt ask your king, cuz you can teach a dog anything!"

they fit a lot of words in a minute fifty six and i appreciate that. fast talkers unite.

return to me

"when your thoughts are all used up, you will return to me."

the you will returns are the lyrical version of that old hypnotic swirly thing, never leaving my brain. theres totally symbolic junk i could barf up about this song but i dont feel like anaylizying it, it just goes hard thats why its here

bustin' a nutt

"ive been taught since i was a young man that i should repress the urge, but if i dont ditch those pants real soon i think theyre gonna burst!"

i really like the intro guitar and whatever that funny little noise they put in between the lyrics is

reevaluation

"i know youll be here long after i am gone-"

mandatory "first of theirs i found" song

trying again

"well step back, cuz i dont know what im doing, and i think im gonna do it some more!"

i really like the instrumental and the lyrics are like the breading on the peanut and butter that this song is. so catchy

anywaysss thats all ive got for now !!!!! go check out tub ring if you havent before theyre super cool. now im gonna go pee. because i need to.
