omg so I just finished reading this manhwa (Korean manga ^^) called The Golden Forest and it was super unique! The high fantasy setting was heavily inspired by Sumerian mythos rather than the European ones Americans are used to seeing or Asian ones you see in manga, manhwa, and manhua (for obvious reasons.) I really enjoyed the drama and sense of tragedy present from the start without being suffocating or overbearing until you've already found yourself wrapped up in it. It's really easy to get swept away by the situation in the same way the characters are and it almost feels like you're reading a myth yourself, rather than a tale based on a myth.
Basically it was really cool and hard to put down! It's not terribly long by manhwa standards either at just around 100 chapters and it's already completed so it's definitely an easy recommendation! I loved the ending too it felt really weighty and satisfying while tying everything in together. It almost made me cry at quite a few point also! TwT I almost wish there was more... but it was so satisfying... Definitely going to stick in my mind for a while!!
Oh, also the art is really good!!!
