Struggling to get back into rp

I've been in a roleplay slump for 3 years now after I had a bad experience with a group I had known for years prior to that. And I've wanted to get back into RP because I miss making OCs and writing with people. But all the RP forums I've been seeing are so bleh or nobody ever talks in the chat and they die.

I've tried the old forums and all of the roleplay's there are the same ones I've seen before. I applied for this one roleplay but nobody has responded to my character sheet submission yet and the owner did say they were creating a discord. I hope they haven't secretly abandoned the roleplay or something T_T
