Music Review 1: Crash The Car By KNOWER

The song on youtube!

Hey so I thought I'd do a blog on songs/albums I'm litsening too and try and breakdown what I like about them then giving it a rating. I'm not very good at music analysis but i feel i could get better at it if i just start doing it. Also if someone could provide me a way to have the song play in the blog post that would be awesome.

Anyways. Todays subject is going to be a song called

Crash The Car by KNOWER

What do you get when you mix gospel and funk together well you get this.

A Serene choir plays over the top while Genevieve Artadi provides these soft spoken lyrics over the top creating this levitating feeling but yet the smooth bassline and clicks manage to keep the song grounded until the build to the chorus where the song practically beams with life. The keyboard and the choir rising leads us into the chorus. The bass line becomes super snazzy and the drums kick in with this really soft snare that compliments the song and doesn't try to take it over. Now with any good song your chorus is gonna be the most catchy part and damn is this chorus catchy particularly the "Meant to be doing this." And "Floor it and don't let go." Lines which are just gorgeous with how they rise. The chorus is almost always constantly getting higher. Genevieve's voice while sounding so effortless absolutely kills those higher notes. The synth also playing part of the vocal melody is such a brilliant idea. As we drop to verse 2 we get the drums becoming a mainstay now and the bassline going back to its basic pattern. The 2nd time the chorus comes around there's a another layer of choir and "glow" going on. Then the breakdown comes which is a nice shift with the build up into the 3rd chorus where Genevieve's vocals get much more powerful which perfectly coincides with the choir gettinf stronger and rising in turn the drums get louder and have more presences. While your still recovering from the utter eargasm incomes these beautiful strings that bassicaly elevate the song from heavenly to actually being heaven. And just when you think theres no way the song can have more Boom! Epic Sax solo.

10/10 song

My only problem is that it ends.
