Hola!
The past weekend I went to visit my grandparents in the southern, coastal municipality: Guanica. There's a heat wave going on that the moment and I was worried I was gonna melt off. But the south was so much windier than I expected!
I took so many pictures of mountains. It was hard to choose which ones to post they all looked so beautiful. I sometimes fantasize about living as a writer in some remote mountain. But I don't think I can completely quit hanging out in the city just yet.
This is the view from my grandparents house. Imagine waking up to this everyday.
I also spotted manatees! But I didn't have my camera with me.
We stayed inside for the most part, but I went to visit the town before I left. The town is slowly recovering from the earthquakes from a couple years ago. The town isn't as bustling as it was when I was a kid though. :/ It's probably because a lot of young people tend to move out of rural towns now more than ever. And here I am wishing I could spend the rest of my life in a town as peaceful and folkloric as this.
Guanica is a picturesque town, I dont think Ive ever seen cloudy skies here. Not only does this town have beautiful scenery, but it has a lot of interesting history too. Puerto Rico's history as a colony began when the spaniards arrived in Guanica. And coincidentally, the US also invaded Puerto Rico through here.
I'm so excited to visit other municipalities around the island this summer!
