the horror movie iceberg is a chart of "horror movies" ranked from least to most disturbing, and its probably the worst horror movie chart ever
my problem with it is that it starts off with pretty tame genuine horror movies but as u go down u lose any actual horror and it becomes straight up gore. starts off with just fake gore but the last tier is literal illegal tapes.. horror is not gore, gore should be used in films only to enhance something already scary, if a film is nothing but gore its not going to have the same effect as a real horror movie, watching sum1 get skinned and cannabalized for 45 minutes isnt scary its just gross.
u shud watch horror for the adrenaline and fear that comes with it, not to be able to tell ppl how tough u are for being able to watch babies gettin tortured and not get grossed out.

actually none of the last tier is illegal to watch, sadly gore is legal to view mainly so people can watch medical tapes ect. it only becomes illegal when there are other laws broken in the media (the worst sort of crimes).
i totally agree with the horror is not gore, alot of early horror and non-horror films used real gore in their productions. examples being apocolyse now and cannibal hol*caust. imo i love a good disturbing film but when irl stuff is used in it, it's a big no go.
