mythical creatures in pop culture

i disike how pop culture simplified mythical creatures 

like i dont mind putting a new spin on an old tale but taking complex concepts and watering them down to stereotypical shit? no. 

and those modern versions are so solidified most people dont care to dig further or change things when making their own story
