There are many, MANY songs I associate with Hualian, simply because of how their dynamic is so easy to understand. I could have chosen many ways to explain this, but I'll choose two singular words: poetic, and romantic. "That's it? That can be easily said for ANY ship regardless of it being canon or not." True, but no ship does it better than Hualian, prove me wrong (please anybody just talk to me). Anyway, I'm going off topic...
Many people say that "Love like you" is a song that describes Hua Cheng's perspective. They're not wrong, but I beg the question: "What if it can be seen on both sides?"
"If I could begin to be
Half of what you think of me
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love"
In Xie Lian's perspective, this is him thinking he's not good enough for Hua Cheng because he is no longer Tai Zi Dianxia, or His Highness Who Please The Gods. He is not the noble crown prince Hua Cheng thought of him as, and so he desperately wishes to live up to Hua Cheng's expectations while not knowing that he loves him for simply being him. Hence: “The one standing in infinite glory is you; the one fallen from grace is also you. What matters is ‘you’ and not the state of you.”
"When I see the way you act
Wondering when I'm coming back
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love like you"
This verse is, in a way, is Hua Cheng and his devotion to Xie Lian. He doesn't care about the common people, nor anyone for that matter, because they were people Xie Lian cares for and protects. It is Hua Cheng learning to come to terms with himself and the world because Xie Lian is in it. A quote that describes what I interpreted perfectly is from a Hualian fanfic that I forgot the name of: "Someone said I'm a kind person...that's not true, I'm just in love with a kind man."
Now I'm sure that it's true
'Cause I think you're so good
And I'm nothing like you
I just adore you
I wish that I knew
What makes you think I'm so special"
