Message From the Mirror

The world that belongs to you, and the world that belongs to me. Is there any inherent difference between these worlds? Are there any inherent similarities between them? The internal world is the aggregate of all information that a person has obtained via their senses. The external world is all the facts, all the truths, all the inextricable qualities of our physical universe as we know it. It's the same no matter how you perceive it. But what if... The way you perceive that world... And the way I perceive that world... Are different? When I look in the mirror, I see my own visage, reflected identically, aside from the horizontal reversion due to the physics at play. 

I can see my own golden hair, and my own crimson eyes. I see the countenance of a dreamer, and a sort of gentle youth that looks simultaneously hopeful and fragile. I see the expression of a man who loves the world, and the people in it, despite the darkness that forms the basis of his body. 

I wonder... Do you see it too? What if, in your own internal world, I looked completely different? If I acted completely different? What if I had blue hair that resembled the depths of the ocean, and green eyes that mirror the endless grassy plains of Elysium that seem to sprawl out endlessly? What if my hair and my eyes were every bit as dreary and lifeless as the Grauerprinz's? What if my expression was just the same as his, devoid of any sympathy, of any caring beyond mechanical contemplation? What then? Could you really say that I was still Trevor Ushiromiya? If someone else exhibited all the traits that I associated with myself, without a single flaw or inconsistency... Would they be Trevor Ushiromiya?

...Sometimes, I think about these things. 

Keheheh... I hope that, no matter how I appear to you, that the message conveyed in my words and my actions remains identical nonetheless. Whatever form I take in your eyes, I shall always be Trevor Ushiromiya. The Trevor Ushiromiya who will one day take on the mantle of lord of darkness, and the very same Trevor Ushiromiya who shall forever call you his friend.
