another blog entry where i'm nostalgic over the interests i had as a child...now i'll be sharing the bits of memory i remember about the things i loved, wish i had, and who i looked up to as BabyPinkChoco (late 2000s to early 2010s)  i fear this entry will be long

i feel like i can go on and on about how much i l♥︎ved squishies  just a span of four years (3rd-6th grade) it was my first real obsession where i would constantly watch youtube videos about it and beg my parents to buy me the cutieful licensed ones...

best website ever (^ ^*)/ ♡ i used to window shop by adding things to my cart for fun then shyly showed my dad my cart full of kawaii stuff  and wait for his decision (most days were a bust) #NARTS  truly the best shop to ever exist i'm really sad it'll never be as slay again...

it's not pictured in the home catalog but i remember wanting the mameshiba squeeze toy so bad like it was that serious... squeeze toys were always the cost of a home (iirc) so i never got to get them (*´ー)ﾉ(ノд`)

i did so much digging the past few days just to recall the squishies i had/wish i had  so here is a silly list of my fav squishies and ones that i never bought (*^.^*)♪

the famous hk powdered donut that was one of my very first licensed squishies  i still have the mini* version ^^ after the big one got defected from me squishing the h*ll out of it i gave it to my cousin and we painted it since we saw youtube videos about painting cracked squishies LOL (right after i found out that it was now non-repo) (￢ .￢)

cafe de n squishies were (and still are) a luxury in squishy world i had the blue version of their macaron squishy and lost my sanity trying to keep it in the packaging so i cut it open to free it...regretted my decision so bad  the newer versions are in ugly packaging

i bought their newer cake squishy in recent years for cheap without realizing this was their orig packaging......... now it's super rare and going for $70+ who else crieded (￣、￣〃)

this story will never not kill me but

these tootookawaii toast squishies were popular at the time and i wanted them so badly it hurt delicious strawberry scented toast and the drizzle was so glossy and realistic  was on a squishy ban since my parents already splurged for me so i had to take matters into my own hands and sent concealed cash 

10 year old BabyPinkChoco gathering cash around the house....and i didn't even know how to send concealed cash (◎ ◎)ゞ i just covered each individual coin with tape so it didn't make noise and covered the bills with a napkin and prayed that no one would steal  and it worked

tootookawaii was managed by a youtuber who is a mother and had a hobby in crafts/kawaii stuff so imagining her receive cash through the mail.......i can only go through so much embarrassment until one day the package arrived → was ecstatic that it all worked out  

i even received one of these nagio pouches just for buying a toast and sammy the patissier squishy...amy (owner of tootookawaii) you are my queen

hello kitty earphone jack squishy ♪

was always sold out on strapya world but i love earphone jack accessories to my core (@.x) bring back phones with earphone jacks now 

i don't know why i have this chopper squishy (´-ι_-｀) i never watched one piece (until 2018)

a true staple for the squishy world...

i remember i used to follow youtubers and put them in the freezer to make it slow-rising () it worked though + many said they smell like popcorn but i thought they just smelled sweet

the only squeeze toy i ever owned 

i actually rebought this again (for $15) and i was right about my last blog entry where i said i could barely squeeze out the honey  now i'm disappointed all over again

i've always wanted cracking squishies but the licensed ones were always like $20 a piece  so i made my older cousin buy me a plain cracking chocolate bar for $5 on ebay or else i would die  i still wish i had these though.......

i rmbr being so excited that squishies were being sold domestically at daiso  until i saw these and got mad cause they weren't as cute as the licensed ones [kicks rock] the choco drizzle was too weak i always peeled it off >.<

the hk fruit collection i never had  i've seen the newer ones and they are just not as nearly c★te....on a mission to find the ones with the original tag

SOAP scented hk squishies （´・｀ ）♡ i have the regular leopard print and it still smells fresh to this day  i bought the other two on the left in recent years but turns out they have different tags and are no longer scented (´･ω･`)...? We lost all direction............

the final boss of the squishy world...ibloom/aoyama tokyo squishies were for different tax brackets (￢_￢;) will forever be cheesed that i never got to get these since they were popular when i entered middle school (when my phase was ending) and these were the most slow-rising squishies i had ever seen in the history of kawaii squishy land

hello kitty's paradise: fun with friends

i had this exact blue dvd as a child and my parents would keep it in the car so me and my s*ster could watch it during road trips  it came with the entire set of episodes so we rewatched this every single time (now the dvd is unplayable and scratched up cause we didn't take good care of it ) the theme song will be forever engrained into my brain i know the lyrics word for word......

one of my fav episodes where mimi and kitty argue  it was so silly and i wanted to eat the slices of cake so bad why does it look so good....

speaking of road trip movies i also watched elouise quite frequently *^^*

a viet household is nothing without doraemon 

i can't explain the doraemon phenomenon that happened in vietnam but i watched it during the years were i was gaining self consciousness  and they were all vietdub aired on viet channels

my grandma would get me these kinds of doraemon paper lanterns around lunar new year and i would rip them after a while from poking holes  xin lỗi bà ngoại 

one of my first anime shows (*/▽＼*)

i didn't watch it in the orig jpn dub until i was like 12 and it took a while for me to adjust cause tamaki's jpn seiyuu (King mamoru miyano) had a way more masculine voice in comp. to eng.......tamaki is so feminine in the eng dub (´ ∀ ` )...

a bit of a cliche moment...there are two occasions where i found out about the existence of korean pop and this mv was the first  one of my former bffs in the 2nd grade has an older sister who L♥︎VED k-pop so my friend was quite the fan as well........after lunch she told me i have to see this video when i get home so she told me "it's called gee" and so i went home and searched up "g" in the search bar and NOTHING. next day → told her i couldn't find it so she gives me a handwritten note on how to spell it and even wrote down the link  must agree it was life changing...

*not going to link it but the 2nd time was when my cousins gathered up and we watched this viral video on facebook at the time of a sad love story (taeyang's wedding dress )

there's this one girl on tiktok that used the audio "b*tch who the f*ck is eli" about rrcherrypie and i could not agree more (*￣▽￣)b i remember someone was impersonating op and they threatened to shut down the channel it was so serious  i was extremely influenced by their videos cause one thing about me if i'm curious about something i need to get my hands on it one way or another....

thus leading to me buying the kit off of modes4u  #we_cheered my parents also bought me the chocolate version  ....starting to realize the stem of my spending habits (x.\)

my polymer clay charm era coexisting with my squishy phase I was actually too serious at the age of 10....i loved polymer clay videos as much as i loved squishies and this got me into sooo much trouble cause i'd spend $100 at michaels and show my angry mom all the crappy clay charms i made   (*´x｀*).....

how i learned about decoden...... was not old enough to handle silicone or hot glue but even now i still don't think i can ever pull decoden off (coming from someone who always flopped at arts & crafts )

i love this channel with all my heart... probably the channel i feel most connected to since she feels like a big sister 2me () went back to rewatch some and i never knew she was 20 during this time (Q&A vid) full circle moment since i'm 21 now trying to collect squishies again  this lifestyle never ends actually....now she should be in her 30s Queen if you see this just know i❤︎u

*one box back then was about $6-7 and my dad and i thought they'd give us the whole set until it arrived...( ﾟ-ﾟ)( ﾟﾛﾟ)~ﾟ ﾟa rookie mistake (or maybe cause i was like 10) so i begged him to get me the full set (~$40)

my earliest memory of hello kitty was this toaster  i had this for the duration of living in two houses but we threw it out after replacing all our home appliances in my new house  i asked my mom about it and apparently my aunt gifted it to us since my cousin loved hello kitty so we had matching toasters  i think this used to have the little toast imprint of kitty but after a decade it just looks like a burnt blob (´｡• ᵕ •｡`)...

if you're wondering when i knew about domo it was in later years where i began developing my aesthetic  not in a kawaii-pinkchoco manner but in a S.W.A.G. (Something We Asians Got) way....a very long era where i wore boys clothes and was a tomboy 

that does not stop me from consuming cute things cause i remember spending $20+ on these hannari tofu plushies 

i frozed...these hello kitty frames I can't move  the kitty frames + obey hat combination Oh it was too serious for me (／。＼) and the brown over saturated filter on instagram like this actually shaped the period right before i became a teen  getting chills from remembering this

if there's a will there's a way (BabyPinkChoco's motto)  i've tried every popin' cookin' in the book....these used to be $10+ a piece (the only thing i've seen a price decrease in) but wasn't sold domestically so me and my cousins begged my uncle who was the only person that had a paypal acc to buy these off ebay 4us  every few weeks he'd buy $50 worth of kits and we'd make them even if they tasted like hot dog water 

*the only popin' cookin' that i thought was actually semi-edible was the hamburger set...the cola was the best part + one of the only kits where the taste is an actual attempt/replica of the food 

anime had such a huge influence on my love for stationery  i still have all my rilakkuma files i started buying when i entered middle school (*the first post on my insta is actually a kokkuma file. LOL)  i'm really (´･_･｀)...now that i'm almost done with uni and i completely stopped using writing instruments since 2020
