We played in Haverhill MA, home of the famous MVRTA bus station! We cut it close because Matt needed snacks and Ben needed a specific Arizona Iced Tea, which very few gas stations seemed to have. In a shocking twist Ben was reduced to smoking old fashioned analog cigarettes because he forgot his trust vape wand at home. We arrived just in time to hear the dreamy tones of the Jonee Earthquake Band wrapping up their intro set.
We played some songs and Chico got to wave to some elderly passersby who weren't all that interested in rock music. Some nice lady shared her pretzel bite things with us and came back later with Funyuns. We shared our Airhead gummies and almonds. What a nice town they've got down there! Matt thought we played great, Chico thought we played alright given that we were playing a bit quieter and in pseudo-rain, and Ben thought we played poorly, which is par the course.
Chico went to get a beef patty from Beach Pizza. It was not good. He also got a Yerba Mate, which was more caffeinated than he realized. Ben urinated a surprising number of times. Matt held down socialization efforts and spread good will and the ways of our people.
Up next were Jug. They had a standup bass and a fiddle with a wahwah peddle. Never seen that before, but it worked surprisingly well. They were followed by The Grubs who are self-professed ski enthusiasts. They brought their own honey, and brought their own jams. They should make a super group with Jug to become the Grub Jugs. Rolls of the tongue like saliva.
We finished off our visit by sitting in with The Jonee Earthquake band as they played a rendition of Ain't Takin A Chance.
