Fiji bottled water

(posted here because i don't have my own website to post water reviews yet and this one isnt a restaurant so it wont doxx me if i post it here)

Honestly, this one was pretty disappointing. With a price of $4 and a loyal fanbase, you would expect this to be good, refreshing water. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The water itself was just ok, nothing terrible, but I wouldn't call it good. One of the downsides of bottled water is that it often has this chemically, plastic-y flavour, and Fiji is no exception. Unlike some brands, though, the flavour is not too strong, and can be ignored. The main issue is that I'm paying $4 for water that is mediocre, at best (not to mention bad for the environment). As for the texture, it's pretty good. Soft enough to be easy to drink, but not too soft as to lack that refreshing feel of water. Overall, it's just alright. 6/10.

What Fiji lacks in quality water, they make up for in bottle design. The clean, square shape and strong plastic makes this bottle stand out in a crowd, rivaled only by Smartwater. Where it loses to Smartwater, however, is the size. Fiji is noticeablly smaller than most other bottled water companies, and for this, it loses points. Back to the shape of the bottle, the square shape fits surprisingly nicely in the palm of your hand, making it good to carry. However, another flaw in this design is the mouth of the bottle itself, one of the most important features in a bottle. The neck and mouth of this bottle are small, making it so the water does not flow nicely. In times lile these we must ask ourselves, is the unique and comfortable shape of the bottle really worth the small capacity and opening? On to the design of the label, this is one of Fiji's strongest points. In a world where how a bottle looks is really the only thing telling different brands appart at a glance, Fiji really knocks it out of the park. The hard plastic makes for a nice, clear bottle all the way around. The nutrition information is backed by a light to dark blue gradient, both eliminating the issue of the text obscuring the clairity and providing a backdrop for the logo on the front. The Fiji logo is written in a crisp, white serif font, outlined in a subtle gold that catches the light. The text below is written in a clean, easily readable sans-serif font that mayches nicely. About ¾ down the bottle is a pink hibiscus flower. This stands out clearly against the blue background and serves two purposes. The first, as with many of the design choices, is to stand out. I've already stated this, but you can clearly spot Fiji water in a cooler full of other brands. The second reason is to tie Fiji water to its tropical roots. Fiji is a tropical island, and nothing solidifies this idea more than a bright pink hibiscus flower. All in all, the graphics are great, even if the bottle istelf and water both have their shortcomings. 8.5 for design and 6 for the water itself.
