The World That Musn't Be Seen

Hark, all Ominous Hombres! Today, I completed the infamous visual novel, Saya No Uta, otherwise known as The Song of Saya. Accustomed to the immense length of other visual novels, I was surprised, and perhaps even a small bit relieved to learn that this story was only a few hours long, and I completed it in only 3 days. The perfidious novel focuses on the twisted romance of the college student Sakisaka Fuminori, and mysterious young girl, Saya. After a near-fatal car accident, Fuminori was forced to undergo neurosurgery to save his brain. The surgery was a success, but it came at a steep cost... After waking up in the hospital, Fuminori realizes he is completely blind... However, after a few weeks of recovery Fuminori's sense of sight gradually begins to return, but it is not the same as it once was. Everyday sights such as people, buildings, grass, and the sky, are instead seen as grotesque tentacle monsters, mountains of flesh, fields of writhing cilia, and a blood-red void. Naturally, Fuminori begins to lose his mind as he is perpetually subjected to an endless horror of blood and gore. However, just before Fuminori goes completely mad, he happens to meet Saya, who is the only person in the entire world to appear as normal, and even beautiful to Fuminori. What follows is a tragedy that I won't spoil, as the game is incredibly short, but have no doubt: I was left utterly fascinated and entranced by the story and world of Saya no Uta, and I'm certain that it won't ever leave my mind... Kuhuhu, perhaps it can even serve as an inspiration for my next experimentation with curses...

Ahh, my comment is so late considering this blog was 4 months ago !!
But, I had to comment on this since I rarely see others mention this!
Saya No Uta is a favorite of mine! I've loved it when I first heard of it
a couple of years ago!
