Wow, it's been a while. Hello again.
Happy Pride Month! Please be safe while you proudly express your identity and fight for your rights! Trans brothers and sisters need help especially.
Alright, so a couple of days ago I went to my university's freshman orientation. It was quite the event. It felt kinda long and I was extremely tired by the end of the program. I had fun though, meeting all the new people. There was always something to do; there was never really a cool-off period. I had trouble sleeping the first night, but I fell asleep almost immediately the second night, likely because of our packed day. While I was there, I was able to see the engineering student center and the engineering side of campus. It was beautiful! I can't believe that this is going to be my home for the next four years.
Yesterday, I was Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. (SPOILER WARNING!) It...was...amazing! Ugh, these people are such geniuses. It was nice to see this film because the franchise is growing with us. I remember seeing Into the Spiderverse when I was about to leave middle school, and I graduated high school and watched ATSV. I enjoyed the parenting jokes and college talk. The action was great, and the humor was good, though the soundtrack doesn't hit like the first one did. I love Gwen's universe, the way the paint melts when she gets emotional, and how the background turn to simple shapes when she reconciles with her dad. Also, I loved the subversions, tricking the audience into believing that Miles was home when he was not, Spot becoming a genuine threat, and Miles being lied to about being a purposeful Spider-Man. I can't wait to see the third movie, this is one of the few film franchises that seems to maintain its quality. The continuity and flashbacks were great too. Oh, and Miguel, he's gorgeous, even if he's extremely dangerous. He did not have to go so hard on Miles, he's only 15!
Okay, I need a separate paragraph for this. The theater experience is alive with ATSV! I've never been in such a theater with vivacity. People laughed, interjected, and had fun while watching. When Miles was flirting with Gwen, someone said "W rizz" (ugh). People also said "DAMN" a lot, whenever someone got hit really hard. Then at the end, when it said "To be continued", people booed! I wasn't surprised though, I had already learned that before we had entered the theater. God, it's so nice to witness a classic.
So, tomorrow, I'm going to a STEM program that I will be at for the rest of June. I will be taking my computer, but I don't know how often I will blog. I have most of my stuff packed right now. I'm super excited, but super nervous. For class, we'll be relearning some precalculus to set us up for Cal I. I hope to have fun but also enrich myself. Unfortunately, I don't have much to say about it right now because they didn't really give us that much information about the program. We'll see how it goes.
Boa noite,
