I sometimes go to random chat rooms to talk to random folks, and I know that 9/10 times you're chatting to men with a 'mission' and/or bots, but sometimes you meet actual people there who also just want to chat.
I've met a lot of cool people there but man it gets tiring when some people fake niceness and you'd think they wanted good conversations, then after a while they start asking for pics and other dirty stuff. It's annoying more than angering.
It's like as a girl on the internet everyone expects something from you, you can't just exist and chill. And that something is always sexual, why can't you just talk to me like a normal person?? If you wanted to get your load off there's decades of shit to get off to free on the internet, and if you wanted some action at least ask and respect the other person's consent and boundaries!
Don't say stuff like 'oh it's not that personal to me' well some people aren't comfortable with that so respect that and talk to us like normal people!
It's also funny how when girls block guys for talk like that they get all pissy saying "all women hate me" well dude maybe if you accepted her explanation and not egg on for something from her she wouldn't block you, ever thought of that?

It really makes you feel that your mere existence is sexualised. I am entering a space designed for conversation, with the sole intent in engaging in just that, and suddenly I find myself in an impromptu dating show despite only being a faceless name. It makes connecting with people an exhausting task, constantly wondering if and when the shoe will drop. Especially disheartening to watch men engage one another in discussions that I’m entirely capable of joining, but not being given the chance beyond precursory pleasantries.

You have such eloquent wording, it's beautiful. Sadly what information it conveys is the ugly truth. I truly wonder when and if things will change, but in the current landscape they're a dime a dozen.

Wait chat rooms still exist? Man I used to talk in them all the time.
I feel like people in general online are horny, fir some reason. On one site I always get guys 'hitting' on me by demanding pics or calling me a whore then whine how women are so stuck up and rude to them. But on the other hand, for my friend who is a guy he's always getting messages from women to buy their pics or go to their only fans to then whine how guys are mean and unsupportive of their lifestyle.

Yeah they still exist, I think even more than before. You have a good point, everyone is just horny, and they have no filter or thought since they're behind a screen. I guess you just gotta wiggle your way through regardless

Yuck I hate that this experience hasn't gotten any better. I hate that I got on the internet way too young and pre-transition and could sympathize with this experience before I was even 13 years old. I don't often think about it anymore, being post-transition (mostly experiencing the world as male nowadays) and not being in the same spaces, but I guess disappointingly makes sense people are still gross.

People never change huh, sorry if it happened to you too before. I was also on the internet way too early for my age and it really hasn't improved, but I think somehow it's gotten worse especially for younger people since there's no child/teen specific sites and it makes them vulnerable to people who take advantage of that. Either way for young and old the internet is just a horrible place even if it has brought so much wonder
